On October 18, former students from rural schoolhouse District 22 met at Pizza Ranch in West Point for a reunion.

This was the first reunion of teachers and alumni from Cuming County’s District 22 school. Brad Glissman and Jill Abrahams Luebbert, the event coordinators, were classmates at the school from K–8. The two met up this summer while attending a funeral for one of their grade school teachers, Teresa Luebbert.

They decided to set up a reunion of former students and friends and began to locate names, addresses and the history of the school. The 1870 school was located northeast of West Point and was one of the final rural schools in the county to close. It served the area for over 100 years, and a final auction of the school and its supplies was held on September 19, 1993.
