The level of competition was high at the C-3 District cross country meet held October 14 at Albion, making the road to state a challenge.

And while West Point-Beemer gave what they had, it wasn’t enough for any of their runners to secure a state berth.

“We ran well. It was a lot more competitive compared to previous years, but we had a good season,” Cadet head coach Noah Burtis said.

West Point-Beemer boys finished 8th in the team race, while the girls took 9th. Emerson Meiergerd and Zaq Leslie were the top runners for the Cadets.

This marked the final race for four Cadet seniors: Kim Pena, Sherlyn Urquidez, Zaq Leslie and Joshua Gonzalez.
